Advanced Guitar Lesson – Frank Gambale Style Sweep Pentatonics Pt.2

In Advanced Guitar Lessons | on March, 19, 2010 | by | 4 Comments

In this video guitar lesson we continue with our look at the sweep pentatonic style of Frank Gambale.

You will find that the picking in these last two pentatonic patterns will be the same as the first three so it shouldn’t take you much time to get them down.

After the last two patterns I show you a quick little repetitive exercise that you can use to begin to develop the ability of playing multiple pentatonic patterns within one lick. You should take this exercise to all of the patterns as soon as you can, then through as many keys as you can so everything will feel like second nature no matter what key you are in.

Thanks for the kind comment! The guitar was an Ibanez Egen 18 I believe. A Herman Li signature. I was borrowing it for a week from a student of mine while my strat was getting re-fretted.

Cheers! Carl..
