Welcome to the first lesson in our Ear Training for guitar video course here at GuitarLessons365.com.
Saying that these Ear Training studies are only for guitarists is kind of a misnomer. If you don’t play the guitar and have just magically arrived at this guitar lesson website looking for Ear Training help, don’t worry it should be relatively easy for you to adapt the lessons to your instrument.
In this course I will go step by step teaching you how to hear virtually everything possible in tonal music while at the same time applying that knowledge on the guitar.
As I say in the course introduction (which you should read
), this isn’t just an Ear Training course, it is a complete musicianship course that will cover contemporary music theory as well. The goal is to make it an all in one approach.
I hope you are in this course for the long haul because this kind of study can be the most important in any musicians training.
In this first lesson you should download the introduction PDF AND the lesson PDF. You should have both of those read before watching the video or else the video probably wont make much sense at all.
This first lesson introduces the concept of tonality and how we will use solfege to help us hear music. The first lesson is the foundation for the entire course so it is very important to understand and practice the exercises thoroughly.
If you have any questions at all just take them to the forum and start a thread in the Ear Training forum if you don’t see it covered already. I will help out as soon as I can.
Here are the downloads for this first Ear Training lesson!!

I am so pleased you are introducing this inner ear training to guitarlessons365 , as this method really improves your ability to play what you hear in your mind when improvising , and it is a lot of fun to sing what you play. For example George Benson scatting with his guitar. I am also pleased as you have inspired me to get back into it . I found it fun to learn singing intervals by associating them with melodies of songs.
Great lesson Carl ….you are a great teacher , and of so much potential benefit to those who seek to learn a proven method of ear training with their instrument , and seek to sing and play what they hear in their mind .
Thanks Carl, excellent excellent lesson. Very helpful!
