Awesome Hybrid Picking Patterns Pt.2 – Video Guitar Lesson

In Intermediate Guitar Lessons | on September, 05, 2010 | by | 0 Comments

In this next video guitar lesson, we continue our thorough look at hybrid picking patterns by beginning to incorporate the picking hand pinky into our patterns.

This may seem quite awkward at first, but eventually it will open up a whole new world of hybrid picking possibilities for you on the guitar.

Pay close attention to the picking hand positioning in this video guitar lesson because you will want to observe not only how still I keep my hand, but also where the movement of my fingers comes from.

Try to keep a consistent contact point for each finger while hybrid picking. You will develop a lot more consistent technique if you do.

Also, be sure to check out lots of players like Albert Lee, Brent Mason, Chet Atkins, Brad Paisley, Eric Johnson, James Burton and many others who use this technique to great heights!!

Don’t forget to download the TAB PDF for this lesson since it gives you all of the right hand finger patterns you will be watching me do in the video portion of this guitar lesson.
