In this free video guitar lesson we will learn some cool classical style fingerpicking techniques that can be applied to virtually all styles of music.
The music example that I am teaching during this free video guitar lesson is a segment of a piece of music by Mauro Guiliani called “Grand Overture”. Mauro Guiliani is an Italian born classical guitarist who virtually invented how the classical guitar was played and practiced in the early 1700′s.
This kind of fingerpicking study can help every player develop a more fluent fingerpicking technique no matter what style of music they play.
The patterns shown in this free video guitar lesson also make a great workout for travis picking. Travis picking is a popular fingerpicking style used by many famous guitarists including Lindsey Buckingham, Chet Atkins, Kansas and of course it’s namesake Merle Travis.
Whatever style of music you want to use with fingerpicking, I feel these patterns will make a great addition to your practice routine.
Don’t forget to download the TAB PDF for this lesson since its shows in detailĀ not only the correct notes, but also all of the fingerings for the fingerpicking.
